Terms of Service

1. Introduction
Welcome to UnchartedCareer (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Sheridan, Wyoming, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.
3. Not Intended for Minors
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
4. AI-Generated Content
Our Service relies in part on artificial intelligence. AI-generated outputs may contain inaccuracies or biases. You understand and agree that any decisions you make based on AI-generated recommendations are your sole responsibility. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, such as successful job placement.
5. Accounts & User Content
When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your login credentials. You may upload or provide certain content (e.g., CVs, job postings) and, if you choose to use interview practice, audio and (optionally) video recordings and transcripts of your practice sessions, for the purpose of receiving AI-driven analysis ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to process, store in Firebase, and display this content solely to provide the Service and enable access to your analysis results (e.g., CV analysis, job fit scores, cover letters, interview feedback) for an improved user experience. You maintain full ownership of your User Content. How we handle interview audio and video, including our deletion practices for raw recordings, is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Interview Practice, Camera & Body-Language Feedback
The Service includes an interview practice feature. You may practice using your microphone only, or you may separately and explicitly opt in to camera-enabled practice, in which your webcam video and audio are processed to generate educational feedback, including presentation and body-language tips. You are not required to enable your camera to use interview practice, and choosing not to will not deny you access to the feature.
You agree that the interview practice feature, including any body-language, presentation, or confidence-related feedback, is provided for educational and self-improvement purposes only. It is not an employment, hiring, screening, or eligibility decision tool; not a psychological, personality, emotion, lie-detection, or behavioral assessment; and not a medical or diagnostic tool. The feature does not identify you biometrically and does not create faceprints or voiceprints used to recognize you.
You agree not to use the feature, or any output from it, to make or inform employment, admissions, lending, insurance, or other consequential decisions about any person, and not to deploy it to assess or monitor other individuals (for example, job candidates or employees). Feedback may be inaccurate or incomplete, and any decisions you make based on it are your sole responsibility. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, such as interview success or job placement.
7. Paid Subscriptions, Auto-Renewal, Cancellation & Refunds
7.1 Subscription Plans and Automatic Renewal
The Service offers recurring subscription plans (e.g., Pro, Ultimate). The price, billing frequency (such as monthly or annual), and renewal terms applicable to your plan are disclosed to you clearly and conspicuously before you subscribe, on the pricing/checkout screen and again in your order confirmation. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, and your payment method is charged for each new term, until you cancel. By subscribing, you affirmatively consent to this automatic, recurring billing.
7.2 Authorization to Charge
You authorize us and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge your designated payment method for the initial subscription term and for each renewal term, on the recurring schedule disclosed to you, until you cancel. You are responsible for keeping your payment information current.
7.3 How to Cancel — Easy and Immediate
You may cancel at any time, effective immediately, using the self-service cancellation control on your account settings page. Cancellation through that control is simple and takes effect immediately to turn off automatic renewal, using the same medium you used to subscribe and without requiring you to contact support or complete any additional step. You may also request cancellation by emailing support@unchartedcareer.com. "Immediate cancellation" means we stop all future renewals and future charges right away; once you cancel, you will not be billed for any subsequent term.
7.4 Effect of Cancellation
When you cancel, automatic renewal is switched off immediately and no further charges will be made. Unless you request otherwise or applicable law requires immediate termination, your existing access remains active through the end of the term you have already paid for, after which it ends. Cancellation is forward-looking: it prevents future renewal charges. It does not, by itself, reverse a charge that has already been made for the current term or create a right to a prorated or partial refund of that term, except as stated in Sections 7.5–7.7.
7.5 Digital Content and Refund Policy
The Service is digital content and online services that are made available to you in full at the start of each subscription term. You acknowledge and agree that performance begins, and the benefit of the term is delivered, immediately upon the start or renewal of the term. Because the full service for the term is made available immediately, charges for the then-current term — including a renewal charge — are earned when the term begins and are non-refundable, whether or not you actually use the Service during that term. This applies equally to a renewal that occurs after a prior term ends. Cancelling immediately after a renewal stops all future charges but does not entitle you to a refund of the renewal charge for the term that has already started.
7.6 Limited Refund Exceptions
Notwithstanding the above, we will issue a refund where: (a) you were charged in error, charged more than once for the same term, or charged after a valid cancellation took effect; (b) the Service was wholly unavailable for a material portion of the paid term due to our fault and we were unable to remedy it; or (c) a refund is required by a non-waivable provision of applicable law. We may also issue a refund as a one-time goodwill courtesy at our sole discretion, which does not waive these Terms or establish any obligation to do so in the future.
7.7 Your Statutory Rights; No Conflict; Severability
Nothing in these Terms limits, waives, or overrides any right you have under applicable consumer-protection or automatic-renewal law that cannot be waived by agreement, including any non-waivable right to cancel or to a refund. These Terms are intended to be read consistently and without contradiction: the right to cancel at any time (Section 7.3) and the limited refundability of an already-started term (Sections 7.5–7.6) are complementary, not conflicting. If any provision of this Section is held invalid, unenforceable, or in conflict with a mandatory legal requirement, that provision will apply only to the maximum extent permitted, or be modified to the minimum extent necessary to comply, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Where applicable law grants you greater rights than these Terms, those rights control.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service's reliability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to these Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service following the posting of changes indicates your acceptance of those changes.
